SOUND-FOR-PICTURE
I write in a multitude of genres, recording almost entirely with real organic instruments as opposed to a reliance on virtual samples. My recording space is blessed with a wide range of instruments including a grand piano, Italian accordion, vintage Rhodes, the latest Roland analog synth, Sonor drum kit, and a collection of over 50 percussion instruments from around the world, 7 different types of acoustic guitars, 20+ electric guitars/basses, and a wide collection of tube guitar amps. For me it's simply easier to pick up a guitar or head over to the drum kit and play something and see if I get the “feels” and know when I’m onto something that resonates and ultimately moves the viewer. I also write/ orchestrate/work with string players for all my current works.
Films have become more global than ever, and having been born in Asia of an Egyptian mother and Hungarian father has enabled me to approach projects with this in mind. I have travelled the world many times over, from graduate school in Asia, work in Europe, backpacking in South America's Andes mountains, walking the streets of NY, or strolling through a farm in Indiana. I'm blessed to have seen many parts of the world, absorbing cultures, their sounds, beats, and often thier instruments.
I’ve also spent a little over two years on the side of the recording console as a sound, music, and SFX editor, as well as 2.0 and 5.1 mix engineer for Discovery/TLC, TNT TV shows, DVD/Blu-ray, and a number of network TV and Indie films, so I have a solid understanding of delivery standards, tight deadlines, and top notch audio quality.
My library of works has grown to hundreds of sound clips of varying genres - below is just a sampling. Feel free to reach out with specific request and I will gladly narrow down a playlist specific to your needs.
